Jameh Mosque of Zanjan dates back to the early Qajar period and Fath-Ali Shah Qajar’s government. The Mosque was built by one of his sons as a place for teaching, worshiping, and residence of one of the mujtahids of Zanjan after whose death, this field was considered as waqf (is an inalienable charitable endowment under Islamic law, which typically involves donating a building, plot of land or other assets for Muslim religious or charitable purposes with no intention of reclaiming the assets) and converted to a mosque. Decorations on the walls of the Jameh Mosque of Zanjan include Stuccos, Muqarnas, and 7-colored tiling of arabesque.
