Afif Abad Garden dates back to the Qajar dynasty and is located on a surface of 12.5 hectares, which has made it one of the biggest gardens of Shiraz and it is worth mentioning that its garden was built in 1868. But there existed another older garden exactly at this location which was specifically the mansions of Safavid Kings. The general architectural pattern of the mansion that exists in this garden, especially the pillars, was based on Achaemenid and Sasanian architecture. During the Pahlavi dynasty, this garden was given as a gift from the owners to the Queen, Farah Pahlavi, who was the wife of the second king of the Pahlavi dynasty. This building was therefore of the possessions of the Queen until it was bought by the Military in an auction which was held in 1961.
Considering the fact that Afif Abad Garden is now owned by the Military armies, it has become a Military Museum and you can find any firearms and cold weapons there which date back to the Qajar dynasty until today. Traditional Hookah Bar and an Old Bath are other attractive parts of Afif Abad Garden which are interesting to visit too.
