In 1997 a dam was constructed in the Torghabeh region of Mashhad for the purpose of supplying water for agriculture and daily use of people. However, the picturesqueness of the lake that was established behind the dam and the beauty of the nature surrounding it, caused this place to become a multi-purpose and touristic area. With the passage of time and with the increment of the number of visitors, the municipality of Mashhad refined and equipped Chalidarreh to provide enough facilities for people’s entertainment. Nowadays Chalidarreh tourist complex is well known as a touristic area rather than a dam.
Chalidarreh tourist complex is located at 17 Km of Mashhad and on Mashhad-Torghabeh road. you can easily access the area via public transport: use the subway to Torghabeh and then take a taxi to Chalidarreh.
