Fire Temple of Isfahan or Atashgah (in Persian) or the Mount of Fire Temple (Kouh-e Atashgah) is one of the historical monuments of the city of Isfahan, which dates back to the Sasanian period. Originally, this fire temple is one of the seven great Zoroastrian temples which were built during the Sasanian dynasty. The primary name of this monument is “Mehrbin” or “Mehrbin Fortress”, and nowadays the folks call it “Atashgah” or “Maribin Castle”.
The Fire Temple of Isfahan is located on the west of Isfahan and south of Khomeyni Shahr or Mehrbin. The distance between the Fire Temple and the city center is 8 km. This building is located near Zayanderud River, on a mountain at the height of 1715 meters above sea level.
