Moghadam Museum was owned by one of the elders and minister of the Qajar era who was later inherited by his son Dr. Mohsen Moghadam.
Dr. Mohsen Moghadam, one of the founders of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tehran University, an archeologist who had been educated since childhood in France. He returned to Tehran after marrying his wife Salma who also was an archeologist who graduated and settled in the house inherited from his father.
Dr. Mohsen Moghadam has done many archaeological projects in Iran. He also collected collections for his personal interest, collecting ancient objects, paintings, medals, and calligraphs. He left the house and collections in the ultimate years of his life at Tehran University, and then in 2009, the university turned the mansion into Moghadam Museum. Dr. Moghadam built a lot of buildings and elements in this house that have made this mansion unique.
