Acropol or Shush castle, which dates back to 120 years ago (Qajar period), was constructed for the residence of the French archaeologist Jean-Marie Jacques de Morgan. What makes this castle unique and prominent is the use of remaining bricks from Apadana Palace in Shush and Chogha Zanbil. The plan of this castle is very similar to the medieval castles and the Bastille Prison in France and it has a Trapezoid shape. Since about 20 years ago this castle is used as a museum and for the purpose of preserving the objects obtained from the Apadana Palace of Darius and the surrounding ancient hills.
