Yakhchal of Meybod (Icehouse of Meybod) is one of the largest glaciers in the country in terms of size, which, like the historical building of Meybod Caravanserai, which is located next to this glacier, is thought to belong to the Safavid period, which was renovated and expanded during the Qajar period. The tank, retaining wall, and dome are important parts of this glacier.
Apart from the height and size of the retaining wall (shading) of eight meters, which is clearly larger than other glaciers in the desert regions of Iran, such as Moayedi and Zericf glaciers in Kerman. The main reason that Meybod Glacier is considered as one of the largest glaciers in the country is the high height of the dome of this building from the ground, which is about 15 meters.
