Natural History Museum of Isfahan is housed in Timurid Hall, which was built during the Timurid period. This place was renamed in 1988 when it started to be used differently. The museum was founded by Dr. Jafarian, a professor at the University of Isfahan.
Natural History Museum of Isfahan has separate halls for exhibiting invertebrate and vertebrate species, botanical and geological objects and etc. This museum is located in the center of Isfahan and close to The Museum of Decorative Arts (Rakib Khaneh) and Chehel Sotoun Palace. Naqsh-e Jahan Square is also located on the east side of this museum.
